With the row within the Tory ranks over gay marriage threatening to get out of control, it's time to take a look at what the Tory government really stand for. I don't mean all Tories, because there are some good ones out there. I mean Cameron's inner circle.
For a start, they've got this obsession with remaining in the EU. While Cameron has said there will be an in/out referendum somewhere around 2017, he has pledged to fight to remain in it. We can't be absolutely sure he will hold one because we've already seen him break a promise over the Lisbon Treaty, which earned him the nickname 'Cast Iron Dave'.
Then there was this idea of cutting taxes for the rich which we were told would boost the economy. Sadly, there is not a shred of evidence to support this. The rich are getting richer while the poor, well, it's the same old story.
Cameron, along with William Hague, seems to love throwing his weight around the world. Afghanistan is still ongoing, and we've seen incursions into Libya, threats against Syria, involvement in Algeria, and now in Mali. War seems to be important to the Tory hierarchy yet it slashed Britain's military with incompetence and savagery.
Cameron says education is important, yet found it acceptable to treble university tuition fees for English students. And while on the subject of the English, he also promised to address the West Lothian Question. That hasn't happened and of course never will.
All in all, David Cameron and his clique have disgraced the Tory party, and it's difficult to see how it'll ever recover from the damage this man has inflicted on it. If the Tories had any sense, they'd get rid of him as soon as, otherwise they can expect to spend many years in the wilderness.
